Law enforcement officers from several agencies in Okaloosa County gathered to remember fellow officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
In the last 12 months, 154 officers died on the job. Their names were read during a memorial service commemorating Police Officer Memorial Day Thursday morning in front of the Fort Walton Beach Police Department. |

75 Embarq employees from around the country took time off from a week-long leadership conference to help the city of Fort Walton Beach build a 9-hole Frisbee golf course at Ferry Park that is expected to be open by next week. The group also planted two gardens at the park and built an oyster cage to be used in a program by the city to repopulate an area near The Sound Park with oysters. |
